Keynote Speakers

Joe Brumm

Joe Brumm is the creator of Bluey, an animated pre-school series that made Rolling Stone's top 100 sitcoms of all time.

It’s won numerous awards including 2 Logies, an Emmy, and a Bafta. Ostensibly written for 4-6 year olds, the show has reached beyond this demographic to include a passionate base of parents grandparents and 20 year olds, with and without children.

It counts among its fans the likes of Lin Manuel Miranda and Natalie Portman (both who have guest starred) Elijah Wood, Rose Byrne, Joel Edgerton and many more.

It's broken all ABC iview viewership records and was the 7th most streamed show (of any genre) in 2022. It was the most streamed show on Disney Plus.

Yet it was all created and made under the one roof in Brisbane by a crew made up mostly of recent graduates, with next to no consideration to change language or content for an international audience.

Joe worked as an animator for 20 years before starting Bluey.

Keneti Galo

Keneti Galo is a subject matter expert and an industry leader in wellness and resilience, with extensive experience developing wellness, culture and performance with Government and National Organisations.

He holds a Master of Counselling and has 20 plus years’ experience in the helping profession, He approaches his work with a great depth of personal and professional experience, providing strategic advice, external supervision and facilitating Wellbeing Culture and Practice workshops.

Keneti promotes the importance of keeping your ‘finger on your pulse’ first.

His purpose and drive are motivated by his great depth of personal experience, having a severe heart attack in 2015. This exposed an artery that was 90% blocked and required a stent.

He uses this experience to speak about the physiological experience of breathlessness. He highlights the importance of maintaining self-awareness and well-being in the workplace, using strategies like self-regulating, co-regulating, and reflective practice.

This in turn has given him the drive to support those who support others and minimising the haemorrhage that we are currently speaking of as the ‘great resignation’, where good people are leaving the helping profession because of the lack of psychological safety supports as well as the lack of ongoing practice strategies towards building practice resilience and sustainability.

2Exhale (to exhale) was created by Keneti Galo and his wife Elizabeth Galo to work collaboratively with organisations, schools and sporting associations to find better ways of being and working towards better outcomes.
